Emily Mortimer

  

Emily Kathleen Anne Mortimer (born 6 October 1971) is an actress from the United States of America. She began acting on stage and has appeared in many roles on film and television. She was awarded an Independent Spirit Award in 2003 for her performance in Lovely and Amazing. Mackenzie McHale is her other important part in The Newsroom, which was on HBO from 2013 to 2015. She also wrote and directed The Pursuit of Love (2021) and Doll & Em (2014).



 



 She provided the voice actress for Sophie in the English-language version of the film Howl's Moving Castle (2004), as well as a cameo in Scream 3 (2000), Match Point (2005), The Pink Panther (2006) and its sequel in 2009, Lars and the Real Girl (2007), Chaos Theory (2008), Harry Brown (2009), Shutter Island (2010), Cars 2 (2011), Hugo (2011), Mary Poppins Returns (2018) and Relic (2020).
